The Geranium Train
The Geranium Train
The “Geranium Train’ on platform 2 complements the nearby gardens. It affords a delightful welcome to passengers arriving from the south with a floral display that is a foretaste of Leamington Spa’s many parks and public gardens.
This train and its twin in the Jephson Gardens are planted up every year by volunteers from ‘Leamington in Bloom’ with colourful flowers grown on from seedings by local schoolchildren. Each carriage carries the name of the participating school.
The original trains, dating from 2003, were replaced in 2016 with ones commissioned from craft apprentices at Moreton Morrell College at only the cost of the materials.
